The First Day Back – September 2020

Our children had a fabulous first day back after such a long time away.  We were all really pleased to see them back in school enjoying their learning and becoming familiar with our new routines.  Here are some photos of our year 6 children.

Starting to Come Back to School

We are so pleased that some of our children have now returned to school.  They have really enjoyed being back in their school, seeing their friends and teachers.  It’s still different to how it was before we closed on 20th March, but our children are definitely enjoying their new learning.

Year 6 – The Big Play

Our year 6 participated in The Big Play as part of the Big Month of Music, March 2020.  They performed Hanschen Klein, translated as Little Hans, superbly.  A wonderful performance as they have only been learning since September 2019.  Well done year 6!

Year 6 – their first performance!

After only a term, our year 6 children performed their first concert in front of a very appreciative audience.  We were extremely impressed with how well they all played.

Year 6 Safe and Sound Event

Our year 6 visited Longton Fire Station to take part in a number of health and safety activities.  Not only did the children have an enjoyable morning they increased there awareness of how to stay safe in various circumstances.

Celebrating Christmas

Christmas was a very busy time for all of our children.  They took part in a number of concerts and nativity performances throughout December for parents and members of the local community.  These were performed at Christ Church, in school, the Mitchell Memorial Theatre and The Grocott Centre.

Christ the King Patronal Service

We were very lucky to be joined by Bishop Geoff join us as we celebrated Christ the King.  This was one of Bishop Geoff”s last services as a Bishop before his retirement.   This made our patronal service even more special.

Year 4 visit to Chester

Year 4 had a very exciting day when they visited the DEWA Roman experience on a crisp December day.  After Roman drill training  they got to see how archaeologists are finding out more about the Romans and the time they spent in Chester.  I think Mrs Park, their class teacher, was very glad that a […]

Year 1 visit to The Brampton Museum

Year 1 spent time during the autumn term learning about Victorian toys and what it would have been like to be a child during the Victorian Era.  Their visit allowed them to dress like Victorian children, make pomanders and experience what a Victorian Christmas would have been like.

Year 5 Ancient Greeks Workshop

Year 5 visited Hanley Museum for an Ancient Greek inspired workshop.  They got to see some Ancient Greek pots and then design their own which they then made.  The pots are now part of our own school museum.
