Year 3 Visit to Westport Lake

To find out more about the animal kingdom and see wildlife up close and personal our year 4 class visited West Midlands Safari Day. They had a wonderful day out, learnt lots and even got to handle some amazing creatures!
As part of our Keeping Children Safe curriculum we invited The Dogs Trust Shrewsbury into school to deliver a Dog Awareness assembly for our children. Our children found the assembly both informative and fun and gave them valuable skills linked to how to behave around dogs.
As part of their “Is chocolate healthy?” learning challenge, year 2 visited Cadbury’s World. A great day was had by all and they didn’t eat too much chocolate.
Our Year 6 class had a fabulous day trip to London. They visited the Queen’s Gallery for an art workshop, made friends with a horse outside the Household Cavalry Museum and experienced the Houses of Parliament during crucial Brexit debates. It was an amazing experience which everybody thoroughly enjoyed.
We had a fantastic World Book Day with the children and staff coming to school dressed as one of their favourite book characters. We had a number of events happening in the run up to Christmas to help us celebrate this special Christian festival. We visited church, we performed a Nativity and sang many carols and Christmas songs.
Our year 6 children performed their first concert just before Christmas showing off everything they had learnt since September. We can’t wait to hear what their performance is like later in the year.
Our Christmas Choir performed a number of Christmas Carols and songs to the residents of The Limes Care Home in Fenton. The children enjoyed singing and the residents really enjoyed the performance and the conversations with the children afterwards.
Our Christmas Choir performed during the switching on of the Christmas Lights in Fenton. The choir sang wonderfully and really enjoyed performing to their family, friends and local community.
To help us celebrate the start of advent and Saint Nicholas, Bishop Geoff led a whole school worship with 8 Bishops for the day being elected by the school. It was a very special service for our own chosen bishops. Thank-you Bishop Geoff for taking the time to visit us again.
Our year 3 class had a fabulous day enjoying the outdoors at Silverdale Country Park. A great time was had by all children and they are really looking forward to their next visit.
